Political Activities

Corporations are not permitted to make political contributions in connection with any election to any United States federal office. Similar laws exist in most U.S. states and in some foreign countries.

While the Company encourages staff to participate in the political process, personal contributions should not be made with or reimbursed by Company funds in U.S. federal campaigns or in other campaigns where it is illegal to do so.

Any proposed Company political contributions anywhere worldwide should be discussed in advance with the Company’s Washington D.C. office at (202) 289-4307.

Lobbying and advocating legislation is also restricted by the United States and certain states and other countries. Before any Amgen staff member takes a public position on government actions on behalf of the Company, Amgen’s Washington D.C. office should be consulted at the above number.
