Sam Guhan is senior vice president of Global Engineering. He is responsible for building and maintaining Amgen’s infrastructure in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Guhan leads Amgen’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) organization, and is executive sponsor for Amgen's Sustainability Plan and the company’s employee resource group focused on Recognition of Indigenous Peoples, Values & Environmental Resources (RIVER).

Guhan joined Amgen in 2003 and has held a variety of leadership positions within Amgen’s Operations function. Prior to his existing role, he was vice president of Engineering. He has served as vice president of Drug Substance Technologies and vice president of Drug Product Technologies. He also held the role of site head for the Amgen Massachusetts facility.

Guhan received a Master of Science degree in engineering from Yale University and a PhD in chemical engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic University.
