Staff Engagement Programs

Amgen recognizes the importance of giving back to our local communities. Each year, thousands of Amgen staff generously devote their personal time, energy, talents and funds to a broad variety of charitable organizations nationwide. Through its own commitment to build stronger communities where Amgen employees live and work, the Amgen Foundation encourages staff to become involved in their local communities through its Dollars for Doers and Matching Gift Programs.

Dollars for Doers

The Dollars for Doers program helps Amgen staff members earn monetary support for their favorite charitable organizations based on their own community service. For each volunteer hour logged by Amgen staff in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, the Amgen Foundation will donate $25 per staff volunteer hour, up to an annual maximum of $2,000.

Matching Gift Program

The Amgen Foundation Matching Gift Program allows staff members to increase their own donations to eligible charitable organizations. The Foundation matches every dollar donated to qualified nonprofits in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, from $50 to $10,000 annually per staff member. Staff can also donate publicly traded stock and have it matched by the Foundation. Each year on Giving Tuesday, the Foundation double matches all donations recorded on that day. Established in 1993, this program has positively impacted thousands of nonprofits across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
