Jean-Charles Soria Elected to American Association for Cancer Research Board of Directors

Jean-Charles Soria, Amgen's senior vice president of Oncology within Global Development, has been elected to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Board of Directors for the 2024-2027 term. He will work with fellow board members to set policy for the Association and oversee its 58,000 members and various activities, including the AACR Annual Meeting.

Soria's dedication to advancing cancer research is evident through his longstanding engagement with the AACR. Beyond his board responsibilities, he currently sits on the AACR-Waun Ki Hong Award for Outstanding Achievement in Translational and Clinical Cancer Research Committee. His previous positions include industry member of the AACR Exploratory IND/Phase 0 Clinical Trials Task Force, member of the AACR COVID-19 and Cancer Task Force, and vice chair of the Annual Meeting Program Committee.

Soria actively contributes to the AACR's peer-reviewed journals, serving as scientific editor for Cancer Discovery and deputy editor for Clinical Cancer Research.

"It is such an honor to be elected to the AACR's Board of Directors," said Soria. "I look forward to collaborating with my peers to advance translational research in cancer drug development."

Soria and the newly elected board members will begin their terms in April at the AACR Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, California.
