“Now More Than Ever, We Need to Lean In”

Amgen Foundation Chair Cynthia M. Patton Shares Perspective on $2 Million Commitment to Local Organizations on the Frontlines of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Amgen Foundation recently announced a commitment of $2 million to more than a dozen organizations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, which is within the general vicinity of Amgen’s global headquarters in Southern California. This commitment is part of a previously announced $12.5 million pledge by Amgen and the Amgen Foundation to support COVID-19 pandemic related relief efforts to address critical needs in its local communities. Organizations include food banks, free clinics, education, care for the elderly and other essential services.

Via iPhone video filmed from her home, Amgen Foundation Chair Cynthia M. Patton shared her perspective on the $2 million commitment. “We’d like to thank our partners on the frontline who are providing much needed support to home-bound seniors, food banks and education funds,” she stated. “Now more than ever, we need to lean in.”
