Recognizing Women's Equality Day

Diversity, inclusion and belonging matter at Amgen. We believe an environment of inclusion and belonging fosters innovation, strengthens our global workforce and drives our ability to serve patients. Today, Aug. 26, we are recognizing Women’s Equality Day and sharing this "Women in Leadership" video in which women leaders in Operations share their experiences working at Amgen. Women’s Equality Day is celebrated in the United States to commemorate the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment which prohibited the federal government from denying the right to vote to U.S. citizens on the basis of gender. This sparked a women’s movement that brought changes in pay equality, medical rights and family and medical leave. Women are an integral part of our society making up 40% of our workforce in many countries with careers ranging from Airforce pilot to CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Amgen is proud to celebrate our women in leadership and rising leaders of tomorrow.
